I have worked for the last 40 years as a Technical Consultant, Solutions/Application Architect, Team Leader, Engineer or Project Manager in distributed environments, mainly in the financial sector, but also with significant activity in eCommerce and Shipping sectors. <br>I have been involved in projects ranging from Fixed Income trading & reporting, US Government Stability Programs (post-crash), Derivative & Traded Option Analysis, Portfolio Trading, 4GL compiler development, Passenger ship stability calculations, and technical writing.  These tasks have been tackled with a variety of languages and tools, from .NET languages, Java, ‘C’ & ‘C++’ through to multi-dimensional modelling tools, using all major DBMS platforms (incl. SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase). These developments included compliance reporting, data warehousing, transactional message broking, query optimisation tasks, client/server models, ESQL/C programming and I have also conducted formal training courses in SQL, Unix, ‘C’ and Oracle.  <br>My particular strength is problem solving, being able to apply my extensive experience to new situations and discover elegant solutions.
