I am pleased to share my team’s humble win in the Kavach 2023 Hackathon. Kavach is a national cybersecurity hackathon organized by the esteemed Ministry of Education and other government bodies.

My team CONTRA came up with a solution to the Plug and Play System Security Audit tool domain called Helmdall. (https://helmdall.com) Throughout the hackathon we were guided by our drive to create a unique approach to auditing systems over the network which is generally user-friendly. It was a challenge to make it work across the board with nearly no setup however we succeeded in making it work.

My part is in making the backend systems work. I was responsible for making the microservices that make Helmdall what it is: a sophisticated audit and command relay and analysis system, all live. I also had to make a CVE Checker (CVEC) which used the latest CVE data from NVD.

A special thanks to our judges Rohan D. Sir and Mahesh Garud  Sir for being a constant source of guidance and critique, thanks to which we were able to deliver a solution that was greatly production-ready and something that the market can make use of as soon as it launched.

Another person to thank especially is Saurabh Sharma who shouldered the vital responsibility of building the Client-side software. His knowledge relating to the field of Cybersecurity is truly inspiring and I believe it was a great decision from my side to get him on board in this project. Without his contribution, winning it would have been a lot more challenging, to say the least.

It is also without a doubt that my team of close friends: KUSUM BANERJEE, Ankit Agarwal, Anshuman Krishna Yadav, and Arunabha Chowdhury were also a key part in our completing the hackathon in time. They have shown a constant desire to learn and improve over the period and it was a source of motivation for me and Saurabh as well.

Finally, I would like to thank the Ministry of Education&#39;s Innovation Cell - MIC, AICTE and NCRB, Ministry of Home Affairs (गृह मंत्रालय), Govt. of India for hosting this beautiful hackathon, an experience which is hard to forget, and my college Techno India University, and dignitaries like Dr. Helena Sengupta ma&#39;am who enabled us to take part in the hackathon in the first place.

I am pleased to culminate this year on a triumphant note, announcing the success of my team, CONTRA, in #sih2023. This achievement marks our consecutive victory in two national hackathons. The challenge presented by problem statement #SIH1464 sought a personalized meeting system for #AICTE. We enthusiastically embraced this challenge, endeavoring to construct a platform not only for the esteemed organization AICTE but also for enterprises seeking a robust and secure solution to their management and collaboration needs.

Named from Old Norse words for &quot;together&quot; and &quot;harmony,&quot; #Samklaang is a revolutionary task and meeting system. It prioritizes high-res meeting playback, user-friendly interactivity, and flawless AI-driven task delegation. Addressing a key industry challenge, it automates actionable delegations for optimized HR utilization. I&#39;m available for detailed discussions here or one-on-one. Reach out anytime!

The #SIH experience this year was truly exceptional, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my teammates and dear friends, Ankit Agarwal, Anshuman Krishna Yadav, KUSUM BANERJEE, and Arunabha Chowdhury. Their unwavering efforts served as a constant source of inspiration, and witnessing their resilience in tackling challenges to bring us closer to the finished MVP motivated me to give my best as well. Leading them in frontend and application development was a gratifying experience, and I am particularly thankful to Ankit Agarwal for facilitating smooth HR management.

Special acknowledgment is due to my close friend and partner, Saurabh Sharma, for his relentless efforts and adept problem-solving. His pivotal role in building the backend server, including an SFU for efficient video stream management during meetings, contributed significantly to our success. I consider it an honor to collaborate and win alongside him. With proficiency in cybersecurity, development, and articulation, Saurabh has proven to be an invaluable teammate. I am confident that our collaboration will continue across various frontiers, and the prospect of working on exciting future projects together is particularly thrilling.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to our esteemed judges and mentors, notably Shashank Shekhar Garuryar and Sachin Pandey, for their invaluable insights throughout the mentoring rounds in the SIH. We will keep them in mind as we propel Samklaang forward.

Gratitude is also expressed to all mentors and individuals who supported us in this endeavor. These hackathon experiences have molded me into a more proficient leader, marketer, and developer. Armed with newfound confidence, I am better equipped to articulate and convey the utility of my plans to others.
