🧵 I just built my first Chrome extension in 2 days. Here's the REAL story:

3 months ago, I was spending 3+ hours daily typing the same LinkedIn messages (connection invites etc.) while job hunting.

Applied to 200+ positions. Sent 150+ connection requests. All manually typed.

One evening, I realized I was spending more time on admin work than building relationships.

So I decided to build (Vibe Code⚡) "Copier" - a Chrome extension to solve this problem.

Here's what happened:

Day 1: Started with Firebase Studio (AI coding tool)
- Built the entire extension
- Looked perfect in preview
- Hit technical limitations as Firebase builds with Next.js, which is not good for a chrome extension (as server side rendering..) 😤

Day 1 Evening: Started over with Lovable
- Better for Chrome extension, builds with react and ShadCN(modern UI) 
- Code looked good
- Couldn't see the actual output (as code editor is behind the paywall) 😔

Day 2: Pulled code to Firebase Studio's Codebase (VS Code hosted on cloud)
- Finally had full control
- Fixed all the integration issues
- Downloaded and tested as unpacked extension

Result: IT WORKS! 🎉

I've been using it for the past 2 days and it's already saved me 2+ hours.

Key learnings:
1. AI tools are powerful but have limitations, if you don't know the tech stack needed.
2. Sometimes you need to combine multiple platforms (hack a way!)
3. Persistence beats perfection
4. Solve your own problem = best validation !
